A Calendly alternative for teams: one price, however many staff
Calendly charges for every person who takes bookings, and the team features start on its Teams plan at $20 a seat a month. Business Box puts your whole team on one booking page for ¥1,200 a month in total, tax included. Your staff keep free accounts.
Start freeThe booking page is free with no card. Inviting staff is part of the ¥1,200 plan. How it works for teams.
The short answer
- Calendly: priced per seat. Round-robin distribution is on the Teams plan, $20 a seat a month ($16 billed annually). Six people is $120 a month.
- Business Box: ¥1,200 a month, tax included, for the whole team. Staff join with their own free accounts.
- What you give up: routing forms, meetings with two hosts, and a staff picker on one service. If you need those, Calendly Teams is the better fit.

| 5 | $100 | $80 | ¥1,200 |

Calendly prices are per seat, before tax, in US dollars (source: calendly.com/pricing). Business Box is one subscription in yen with consumption tax included. Only the account that owns the booking pages pays; the people you invite do not.
How a shared booking page works
- Invite by emailEach person signs in, or makes a free account, and joins your workspace. You tick their names on the services they take.
- Their own calendar and hoursEach person connects their own Google Calendar or Outlook and sets their own working hours. Their events block their slots; what those events are stays private.
- Fair rotationA time is offered if anyone is free. The booking goes to whoever has the most time left that day, and on a tie to whoever has gone longest without one.
- Everyone's day on one screenDay, week and month views, with a column per person on the day view. Hand a booking to someone else and the customer is told who they will now see.
- Members see their own bookingsThe owner sees everything; each member sees what they are taking.
What Calendly Teams does that Business Box does not
Be clear about this before you switch. Business Box does not have routing forms that send a lead to a person based on their answers, meetings that need two of your people at once, or a list of staff to choose from inside a single service. The workaround for the last one is one service per person ("with Yuki", "with Sam") side by side on your page. Rooms and equipment are not booked either. (The full list.)
Why it matters more in Japan
A per-seat price in dollars is a cost that grows with every hire and moves with the exchange rate. Business Box is billed in yen, includes consumption tax, and was built for Japan: booking pages and emails in Japanese and English per customer, Japanese public holidays closed automatically, and card payment in yen into your own Stripe account. See Calendly for Japan for the rest of the comparison.
Questions
Do my staff need to pay?
No. Each member keeps a free account. Only the business that owns the booking pages subscribes.
Is there a limit on team size?
There is no per-person charge: two people or twenty, it is ¥1,200 a month. One account holds up to 50 people, which is a ceiling on calendars we poll rather than a price.
Can the owner take bookings too?
Yes. The owner can be in the rotation like anyone else.
What happens when someone leaves?
You hand their bookings to someone else first; Business Box will not remove a member who still has appointments, so no customer is left with a booking nobody is keeping.
