Practices where the appointment is the product, the records matter, and a missed slot cannot be resold. Below is how 28 of them actually set up online booking — the session length, the gap between clients, whether to take payment up front, and the one thing that trips each trade up in Japan.
International clinics and GP practices#
A first consultation needs longer than a follow-up, and the patient usually wants to know before booking whether the doctor speaks English and whether their insurance is accepted.

Most patients present a 健康保険証 and pay 30% on the day, so the amount is not known when they book. Show the price as a range in the description rather than charging a card.
English-speaking dentists#
Check-ups, cleanings and treatment appointments are different lengths, and a patient who cancels an hour before leaves a chair and a hygienist idle.

Routine dentistry is covered by insurance and 自由診療 work is not, and the difference is the single most common question from foreign patients. Make it two event types so the price is unambiguous before anyone sits down.
Orthodontists#
