Online booking for financial advisors

Foreign residents in Japan have a specific, unanswered set of questions, and almost no one advertises that they can answer them. Naming them is worth more than any amount of general copy.

In short

A free 30-minute discovery call and a paid 90-minute planning session as two event types, with the topics you actually cover named in each description.

The mismatch between what you offer and what they search for#

Most advisor pages say "financial planning". The person looking for you is typing something much more specific: whether they are tax resident, what happens to a UK pension, whether NISA is worth it on a five-year stay, what iDeCo does if they leave.

The second problem is the free-call treadmill. Without a paid tier, you spend your week on conversations that were never going to convert.

The setup to start from#

A free discovery call qualifies the client, and the paid work that follows is a small number of long, valuable meetings that must not be missed.

Worth asking on the booking form: What would you like to talk about? · How long have you been in Japan? · Are you a Japanese tax resident?

In Japan

Foreign residents want advice on NISA, iDeCo, overseas pensions and whether they are tax resident — and they want it in English. Naming those in the event description does more for bookings than any amount of general copy.

A free door and a paid room#

Thirty minutes free, to qualify. Ninety minutes paid, to actually do the work. Two event types on one page, and the paid one is where your time goes.

Name the topics in the event names#

"NISA and iDeCo review", "Leaving Japan: pensions and lump sum", "Cross-border tax residency call". Each as its own event type. It is unglamorous and it is exactly what people search for.

Ask the two questions that decide everything#

How long they have been in Japan and whether they are a Japanese tax resident. Both on the booking form, both answered before you sit down.

Common questions

Can I offer a free first call and charge for the rest?

Yes — two event types, one free and one paid. Both sit on the same booking page and the client picks.

Can clients outside Japan book?

Yes. Set the location to video and they see your availability converted to their own time zone automatically. Payment is in yen by card from anywhere.

Is client information kept private?

What clients write on your booking form is visible only in your account. Only what you put in a public event description is visible to anyone else.
