You cannot answer the phone while you are with a client

The call comes at 14:20. You are holding a pair of scissors, or halfway through a treatment, or driving. By the time you call back, they have booked somebody else.

The bookings you never hear about#

A missed call is not a deferred booking. Most people do not leave a message and do not try again — they go to the next result. You never find out it happened, which is why this is the easiest problem in the business to underestimate.

And in a second language it is worse#

Somebody whose Japanese is shaky, or whose English is, will avoid a phone call they can replace with a form. If you serve foreign residents in Japan, or Japanese customers in English, the phone is not a neutral channel — it is a filter, and it filters out people who would have booked.

A link that books without you#

Your booking page shows real availability and confirms instantly. There is nothing to install and no account to create — the customer picks a time, fills in name and email, and is booked. Your booking page

Where to put it#

• Google Business Profile as your appointment link, so people booking from Maps land straight on it.
• Your Instagram or LINE bio.
• Your website — better still, embed the booking flow so nobody leaves the page. Adding it to your site
• Your voicemail greeting. "I cannot take calls during appointments — you can book any time at…"

Ask on the form what you would have asked on the phone#

The phone call was doing a job: finding out what they need. Put those questions on the booking form and the information arrives with the booking. Booking form questions

Keep the phone for what it is good at#

Some conversations should be conversations. The point is not to remove the phone, it is to stop routine bookings depending on both of you being free at the same moment.
